Hamburgers and French Fries

I made these for the 4th of July party we had here at our apartment. I first saw them on Cake Wrecks and they're originally from Bakerella... both fantastic blogs if you have the time to check them out.

I think they turned out great and everyone loved them. My FIL thought I had made mini-burgers ahead of time as appetizers. They're yellow cake mix (with buttermilk subbing for water), brownies (followed directions for fudge-like instead of cake-like), sprinkles for sesame seeds and tinted vanilla icing for mustard and ketchup. The fries are rolled sugar cookies cut into strips.

Here's a quick photo of all my materials laid out to make the baskets and liners. You can get a pdf file of the templates from the Bakerella link above.

I also left some icing in these nifty bottles in ase anyone wanted some "extra" ketchup or mustard for their fries. ;o)

Seeing these photos again makes me so ridiculously hungry....
